Welcome to Melissa's fundraising page! 
In May 2002 Melissa and our family were blessed with Chip, her first National Service Dog.
Over the years Chip has become a companion and positive permanent fixture in Melissa's life. The arrival of Chip resulted in Melissa being much calmer at home.
The enriched effect Chip had on Melissa's home life is echoed at school, where Chip accompanies Melissa on a full time basis. Melissa's attention span, speech and socialization has increased while her "behaviours" have decreased. This has increased her ability to learn and afforded her enhanced quality of life.
Chip has aided Melissa in her autistic attachment issues, where Melissa is now reliant on Chip's presence for her physical and emotional well-being. Chip has become Melissa's best friend who loves her unconditionally.
