****Online registration is now closed.  Register onsite at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School from 6-7 pm on Saturday, May 12. Registration fee:  $20 for individuals, $35 for a family of 5****

7-8 pm             Rally

8 pm                Movie

11 pm             Lights out

 

Sunday Morning

6-7 am             Clean-up

7-8 am             Coffee and donuts

8 am                Time to head home, thank you for a successful event!

Some things to remember to bring for your SleepOut experience:

Flashlight(s) - Duct tape - Jacket(s) - Warm clothes - Sleeping bag or blankets - Pillow (if you want to be extra cozy)

Teddy bear (if you’re afraid of the dark)

 ****Currently, there is a 30% chance of RAIN on Saturday night…come prepared! ***

                (Rain, rain, go away…come again some other day…Rain, rain, go away…)

 Some ideas of extra things to bring include:  Extra pair of socks/shoes - Waterproof jacket – Tarp - Umbrella

    SleepOut for Shelter is a great service project for:    

• Youth Groups • Businesses
• High School Teams and Groups • Rotary Clubs
• National Honors Society • Lions Clubs
• Chambers of Commerce • Jaycees

• Athletic Teams

  

 
Young adults who take an active role by forming a team will receive a letter from McHenry County PADS for their college file indicated they have demonstrated dedication and leadership to their community.

Please note, children under the age of 18 are required to have adult supervision during the SleepOut event. We recommend one adult for every eight children.


    Registration Details    

There are two ways to register for the event.

1) Individual

  • Registration fee of $20 per individual
  • Option to fun-raise or collect pledges
  • Receive a t-shirt and button
2) Family
  • Registration fee of $35 (for a family of five)
  • Option to fun-raise or collect pledges
  • Each family member receives a t-shirt and button
Special Note:
 
  • Both individuals and families can start or join a team during the registration process.
  • Take the Team Challenge!

    Take your commitment to help end homelessness a step farther by taking the team challenge.  Simply commit to raising a minimum of $500 through pledges and you're in the running to lay claim to the esteemed SleepOut for Shelter Traveling Trophy.  Plus, the team(s) who succeed in raising $2500 or more have the honor of adopting a bed at McHenry Country PADS.  

    The team that raises the most money for SleepOut for Shelter wins the "Traveling Trophy."

    Event Details    

Planning Meetings:
There will be one informational/planning meetings for individuals and teams that register for the event.
  • April 19 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm
    Immanuel Lutheran Church & School, Crystal Lake, IL, located at 300 S. Pathway, Crystal Lake, IL (behind the Jewel and Hobby Lobby on Route 14)
Important Dates & Times:
Early Bird Registration Ends (Get a SleepOut T-shirt!) April 25 at 12:00 am
Collected Pledges Due
    Drop off at Pioneer Center, 4001 Dayton Street, McHenry
May 7 from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Onsite Registration May 12 at 6:00 pm
Rally May 12 at 7:00 pm

Collecting Pledges
All participants are strongly encouraged to help make this a successful fundraiser for McHenry County PADS by collecting pledges from friends, family members, neighbors and colleagues. To make your pledge collection easier, there is a downloadable pledge form or you can attend one of the planning meetings and receive a pledge envelope. For every dollar raised, over $.91 goes directly back to our programs. And don't forget to check and see if your company has a matching gift program to double (or sometimes even triple!) your pledge amounts!

What You'll Experience
The evening will include live music, testimonials and the chance to visit our "homeless experience" booth which will have games that share the trials and experiences of a homeless person.
