Ahoy-hoy family, friends, and strangers alike, welcome to the Mustache-a-thon,
The organization 826 Boston
826 Boston is a youth writing center that helps students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills. For a marvelous video about 826 please watch this, http://www.ted.com/talks/dave_eggers_makes_his_ted_prize_wish_once_upon_a_school.html
What I do
For those of you that know me this will not come as a surprise, but I am growing a moustache. A pristine stache with positive and pure intentions. You see, I am growing it for 826 Boston's fourth annual moustache-a-thon. Yes, I've offered my face up for a higher cause. Let me explain. I wake up in the morning, whiskers in my eyes, and groom my mustache in the mirror. I give it a proper twist and twirl, pick cream cheese out of it after breakfast, and soup after lunch. You see it must be pristine at all times because I publicly pledge to flaunt my moustache proudly in support of 826 Boston. My goal is to raise id="mce_marker",000 for 826 Boston. Why 1000? 1000 is a pleasant number and is enough to one student to attend a whole year of after-school tutoring.
What YOU can do.
Family, friends, and strangers I wish I knew can offer not only your moral support but your financial support by clicking on the "Sponsor Me" button to the right of my photo. We've not much time to act. So please help me reach my fundraising goal by March 30th. 826 Boston could not be where it is today without generous supporters like YOU.
When I reach my goal, then I will, upon the first of April, shave my stache and show the world the true appearance of my upper-lip, a sight few have seen to share.
Now quickly, go click that "sponsor me" button as I contemplate life with a bald upper-lip.
Matthew "Mustache" Dickey
