I am participating in The Great Write Off, a friendly comptition between six Michigan non-profit literary organizations to raise awareness and much needed funds for our causes.

To be honest, I haven't participated in a fundraiser since I rode in a bike-a-thon for the Boy Scouts of America. I only signed up because the course was on the runway of my hometown's abandoned airport. No way was I missing out on the chance to pedal my Dukes of Hazzard-themed BMX down an honest-to-god runway. I couldn't care less about the Boy Scouts.

Let me tell you, though, I do care about Fiction Writers Review. I read their website daily and am continually inspired by their essays, reviews, and interviews. They post new content five days a week relying solely on the elbow grease and kind hearts of volunteers--volunteers who also happen to be some of the finest writers writing today.
