Family and Friends,
If I’ve fallen out of touch recently, I apologize. I’m not in trouble. I’m not angry. It’s nothing you’ve done, I assure you. It’s just... It’s just that I’m growing a moustache.
A moustache... It’s true. You might feel surprised or even put off. Let me explain, I’ve offered my face up for a higher cause. I am growing a moustache for 826 Boston’s fourth annual Moustache-a-thon, a city wide competition in which men and women alike grow moustaches to raise money for 826 Boston’s free writing and tutoring programs. I’ve come to know and love 826 Boston and can attest to the importance of the work they do. “The effects of this program are far-reaching,” stated parent Leah Arteaga. “826 Boston gives opportunities to kids that otherwise might not be successful in their academic endeavors.”
Not only am I asking for your moral support, I hope you will lend your financial support. At present, my moustache is wispy, faint– it may even be invisible to some– but my resolve couldn’t be greater. I publicly pledge to flaunt my moustache proudly in support of 826 Boston. I hope you’ll do your part, too!
