Item: Prairie Provinces (Wall map)
MCR0027: This map is part of the Regional Base Map Series, a set of seven maps that show all of Canada at 1: 2 000 000. The Prairie Provinces map focusses on Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The map shows federal, provincial and territorial boundaries, and boundaries of places of more than 50 000 inhabitants. There is also detailed townsip-range data: along with the outline of townships, there are numbers to indicate ranges and township numbers and also numbers for base lines and meridians. The transportation content consists of roads (shown in four classes) and railways. Populated places are shown in one of five size classes. The map shows national parks and the larger provincial parks. There is also detailed coverage of glaciers and icefields. Data is as of 1990.
