2022 East Coast Trail "Trail Raiser On the Go"
 Description

Come Hike and Fundraise With Us

From September 12 to November 6, rally up a team of friends, family, coworkers, or just your own two feet. We are targeting a fundraising goal of $50,000 to help maintain, enhance, and develop the East Coast Trail in 2023. For example, funds raised in 2021 have been used in 2022 to enhance Tinkers Point Path, the south end of Bear Cove Point Path, and Island Meadow Path. These funds will also go towards replacing the La Manche suspension bridge stairs in 2023. These enhancements include replacing damaged structures and clearing overgrown areas of the paths.

What is Trail Raiser On the Go?

The East Coast Trail “Trail Raiser On the Go” is the East Coast Trail Association’s annual fall fundraiser, running this year from September 12 until November 6, 2022. Over the course of four sessions, totalling eight weeks, fundraisers are encouraged to complete self-guided hikes, following the suggested schedule. To complement each session's hikes, we have partnered with local businesses along the ECT to offer Trail Raiser On the Go participants fun activities to try over the fall season (see hike and activity schedule below).

During each session, hikers can choose to complete the corresponding easy to moderate hike, moderate to difficult hike, difficult to strenuous hike, or why not try all three?! The more you hike, the more chances you have to win!

To close out the fundraiser, on November 6, we will all gather at Quidi Vidi Brewery, to enjoy entertainment, snacks, and even more prizes! Join us to help celebrate all we have accomplished over the season.

Hiking Challenge & Activities

In addition to completing session hikes, over the course of the Trail Raiser On the Go, fundraisers will have the opportunity to partake in different activities along the Trail scheduled during each session. More information relating to the activity schedule will be shared via newsletter, so be sure to keep an eye on your email inbox! Note, the above schedule of activities is tentative and subject to change.

Prizes Categories & Packages

Final Grand Draw Prize

The entries for the Grand Draw prize are based on the amount fundraised (one entry for every $50 fundraised), plus how many session hikes you completed (and verified with us) over the course of the Trail Raiser On the Go event. All registered hikers* are eligible for the final Grand Draw prize. Entries awarded in each session will remain in the draw for the session draws that follow, as well as for the final Grand Draw prize, so the earlier you begin participating, the more entries you'll have throughout the Trail Raiser On the Go, and the more chances you'll have to win:

Round trip for two with PAL Airlines + one-night stay at the Marble Villa + lift tickets for two at Marble Mountain + dinner at Tlacuache in Corner Brook

Session Draws

For every $50 fundraised, you will receive one draw prize entry, plus for each session hike you complete (and verify: see requirements below), you will receive one bonus draw entry. These entries are cumulative over the event. All registered hikers* are eligible for the draw prizes.

*NEW* During each session, each path you complete will get you one bonus draw prize entry upon verification. This means if you complete two of the suggested paths during a session and have fundraised a minimum $50, you will receive two bonus entries. Note, only one entry will be awarded per person, per path completed. For example, if you complete Cape Spear Path three times during Session 1, you are still entitled to only one bonus draw prize entry.

Example: If you have not fundraised $50 by the deadline to submit verification, you will not receive any draw prize entries for that session. That means, in Session 1, if you complete Mickeleens Path, Cape Spear Path, and White Horse Path, but haven't raised the minimum $50, you will not be entitled to any Session 1 draw entries; however, if you have raised $50, you will receive four - one for the first $50 fundraised and one for each of the completed paths upon verification.
