DESCRIPTION:\n  \n    \n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    At Chicago Canine Rescue\, our\n      superpower is our uncanny ability to see the\n      SUPERMUTT inside\n     every\, down on their luck\, dog\n      that enters our program. Every day\, we join forces with our\n    loyal supporters to fight the hopelessness facing hundreds of dogs\n    in Chicago and together\, we’re helping these homeless pups become\n    SUPERHEROES to their adoptive families.  \n\n\n  In 2017\, CCR has\n    continued to use our powers for the good of the dogs\, providing more\n    extensive and novel medical procedures than ever before\, as well as\n    in our community\, via our continued commitment to progressive\n    programming and assistance for Chicago’s dogs and dog owners. \n\n \n\n  \n    So what’s your Superpower? \n  \n\n\n  \n    You don’t need to fly\, have x-ray vision\, no cape or a mask\n      needed. Join forces with us for Mutt Strut and\n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      be a hero for dogs in need!\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      \n      \n    \n  \n\n \n\n    JOIN US\n      FOR OUR 14TH ANNUAL MUTT STRUT\n  \n\n\n  \n    Presented by \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n  \n  \n    \n  \n\n \n\n  Today\, we invite\n    you to join CCR in our most important fundraiser of the year\,\n    where hundreds of animal lovers will fill the streets of\n    Wrigleyville in Chicago for a fun-filled\,Superhero themed block\n    party and 1.5-mile fun walk. \n  \n\n\n  \n    Saturday\, October 7th\, 2017\n  \n\n\n  \n    11:00AM - 3:00PM\n    \n  \n\n\n  At Southport Ave\n    &amp\; Newport Ave\, Chicago\, IL\n\n\n  *Walk is at 1:00PM*\n\n\n  \n    \n      \n        Dress your dog in a cape or\n          your favorite Superhero costume!\n      \n    \n    \n      \n    \n  \n\n\n  At the Mutt Strut\n    get access to canine experts like dog trainers\, veterinarians\,\n    nutritionists\, groomers and more! Plus\, catch "real"\n    Superheros sneaking around the event for photo fun. The event will\n    also have food and refreshments\, an extensive silent auction\, dogs\n    availablef or adoption and so much more!\n\n \n\n  \n    \n      Plus meet Steve Dale of Steve Dale\,\n    \n  \n\n\n  \n    \n      long time CCR Supporter!\n    \n  \n\n\n  Steve is a certified animal behavior\n    consultant (CABC) and has reached more pet owners over the past few\n    decades than any other pet journalist in America.\n\n\n  He is the host of two nationally\n    syndicated radio shows\, Steve Dale’s Pet World and The\n      Pet Minute (together heard on more than 100 radio stations\,\n    syndicated Black Dog Radio Productions\, since 2005). He’s also a\n    special contributor at WGN Radio\, Chicago\, and program host\n      of Steve Dale’s Pet World\n     (since 1997). He formerly hosted the nationally broadcast \n    Animal Planet Radio. Kids under\n    12 and dogs are free! Your registration fee includes an event\n    t-shirt\, goody bag\, food and refreshments at the event. Your entire\n    donation goes to Chicago Canine Rescue! We open our doors and our hearts to dogs\n    with treatable and chronic/manageable illnesses\, broken bones\,\n    injuries\, or that simply needa more comprehensive adoption\n    process. \n\n\n  Can you believe\n    that without our help a happy\, friendly dog with canine flu or\n    dental disease could be euthanized? No? – we couldn’t either and\n    that’s why we were founded in 2001. \n\n\n  We take in these\n    vulnerable animals\, provide them with all-inclusive medical care and\n    then seek that perfect family connection for them. It’s a longer\n    process\, but there is nothing better than seeing a dog like Rocko\,\n    who arrived at CCR with a large tumor invading his nose and mouth\,\n    received major surgery and a lengthy recovery\, and then joined his\n    new family! \n\n\n  \n    You can see Rocko\,\n      here\, enjoying a ride with his new brother – Supermutts\n      in action!\n  \n\n \n\n  \n    \n  \n\n \n\n  \n    Dogs who would make perfectly good friends and family\n      members\, but just need someone to save them. To give them a\n      chance. A chance to survive. A chance to love. Please\n    allow extra time when arriving by car. Southport Ave is a metered\n    parking street. The meters run from 9:00am until 9:00pm on Saturday.\n    We recommend you park on any other street besides Southport Ave\, as\n    all neighboring streets are free and do not require a permit until\n    6:00pm. Unfortunately the closest paid parking lot is about 4 blocks\n    north at Grace &amp\; Southport in the Blaine School Parking.\n\n \n\n  \n    RESTROOMS: We'll have a port-a-potty and a\n    volunteer to help with your dog on site.\n\n \n\n  \n   \n\n  \n
