Myself and some of my fellow Lions Gate Hosptial OR colleagues will be participating in a medical relief and education mission with members of Team Broken Earth BC, going to Antigua, Guatemela in November of this year.
Colleagues of mine have being doing missions to Haiti and Guatemala since I began my OR nursing career in 2008, and it has always been a goal of mine to participate in one. Now that my kids are a little bit older, I'm finally able to fulfill this goal! I will be primarily on the orthopedic surgical team but will happily support in all areas!
I have created my own fundraising page to collect donations to help offset my own personal costs. Team Broken Earth helps supplement individual costs, as well as fundraising for all of the medical equipment and supplies required for the duration of our mission. However each volunteer is responsible for fundraising $2500 to help offset costs for flight and accommodation. Donations made here will go directly to help my portion of costs!

Team Broken Earth provides medical care and education in disaster stricken and developing nations. Our missions focus on providing much needed care to those most in need, and supporting and reinforcing the healthcare system in some of the poorest countries in the world.
