I am participating in the Foundation of Hope’s (FOH) annual STRUT walkathon on June 8th and I hope you can support me. I will be walking a mile in shoes pushing my comfort zone to raise funds to help LGBT+ refugees – Strutting my way to show support and solidarity for those who can’t!

In over 75 countries Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans* people are still persecuted, often facing violence, and even death, on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. A refugee’s journey is often a difficult one and they face more challenges when arriving in Canada. Isolation, loneliness, depression, PTSD, are not uncommon and a lot of resources are needed to help with their integration to a new life in Canada.

The funds raised through STRUT allow FOH to continue providing grants to sponsorship groups and charities directly working to support LGBT+ asylum-seekers, refugees & newcomers. Please help me reach my fundraising goal! Just click "Sponsor Me" to donate and make a difference!!

About This Fundraiser

Help us raise $60,000 for LGBT+ refugees. Funds will go towards services that are badly needed to assist LGBTQ people flee from countries where they are persecuted and come to Canada. Furthermore, this money is distributed as grants to frontline community services actively assisting LGBT+ refugees and newcomers to settle and integrate into Canadian life.
