Hello Alumni,
Its Emmie Koenig here, PRC Class of 2005, and current women's head coach and program director at PRC.
I am reaching out on behalf of our 2019 row-a-thon campaign.
My life is so blessed that my profession is working with young athletes in the sport of rowing! During my own rowing career I learned so much about how to live life right. Rowing helped me find the strengths within myself which may have remained buried if not faced with the challenges rowing had to offer. I knew that coaching was going to be in my life because giving back to the sport and program that gave me so much was very important.
When I first started coaching my mindset was that I had learned everything the sport of rowing has to offer. In reality I had only started on a journey that still continues today. Over my 10 years of coaching the athletes of Pacific inspired me to be a better coach and a better person. I hope that I have affected the athletes in a similar way.
Pacific is known for being a club that does a lot with a little, and continues to be competitive in our region and nationally. Last Year we had both men and women competing at youth nationals. The men’s eight came in 11th, and the women’s four came in 5th. To that end on Jan. 11th the Team will be reliving the old tradition of competing on the water for the most laps between red, white, and black teams for our annual Row-a-thon. Our goal is to raise 75,000 dollars for the athletes that will go to the purchase of equipment, parts, support our financial aid rowers.
Please help me support the athletes in the continued search for boatspeed!
