Hi, I’m Nicholas Pinette — a cancer researcher who has been dedicated to urological cancer research since 2018. This work means everything to me. In fact, I changed my entire university and career path to pursue it.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine. I currently work at the Vancouver Prostate Centre in Dr. Nada Lallous’s laboratory, where I focus on understanding and treating prostate cancer. I’m also proud to be the team captain of the VPC’s PCFC Father's Day Run team for the third year in a row.
This cause is especially close to my heart. I lost my maternal grandfather, Jack Hoggard, to prostate cancer, and I run in his honour every year.
I’ve also been fortunate to receive a Grant-in-Aid Award from this foundation, which helped support me through my Master’s degree. That funding played a critical role in my journey as a young scientist—and it’s one of many reasons I believe so strongly in this organization’s mission.
Outside the lab, you can find me on the ice playing hockey or out capturing moments with my camera.
Thank you for supporting me and this important cause. Your donation helps fund life-saving research, supports young scientists like myself, and improves care for people living with prostate cancer.
Let’s keep moving forward—together.
