This year, our Famille Deroche‑Walkty Family is celebrating a meaningful milestone: our 10th year fundraising for the St.Amant Foundation in support of the Free the Spirit Festival. Over the years, we’ve been inspired by the kindness and generosity of people who have supported us — and we’re grateful for every message, donation, and gesture of encouragement.
The St.Amant Foundation supports over 5,000 Manitobans with developmental disabilities, helping build independence, opportunity, and connection. As one family among many, we’re proud to contribute to this work.
To honour our 10th year, we’re participating in our 10th Anniversary Match Suite:
- 10% added to every donation
- $1,000 added at every $10,000 milestone
- $100 added for every 10 donors
We invite you to support us again this year — or for the very first time. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps us reach our goal and supports a community we care deeply about.
Together, we help create opportunities and independence for over 5,000 Manitobans with developmental disabilities.

Cette année, notre Famille Deroche‑Walkty célèbre un jalon important : notre 10e année de collecte de fonds pour la Fondation St.Amant dans le cadre du Festival Libérez l’esprit. Au fil des ans, nous avons été inspirés par la générosité et la bienveillance de ceux qui nous ont soutenus — et nous sommes reconnaissants pour chaque don, chaque message et chaque encouragement.
La Fondation St.Amant soutient plus de 5 000 Manitobaines et Manitobains ayant des troubles du développement, en favorisant l’autonomie, les occasions et les liens. En tant que famille parmi tant d’autres, nous sommes fiers de contribuer à ce travail essentiel.
Pour souligner cette 10e année, nous participons à notre jumelage du 10e anniversaire :
- 10 % ajoutés à chaque don
- 1 000 $ à chaque palier de 10 000 $
- 100 $ pour chaque groupe de 10 donateurs

Free the Spirit Festival

Free the Spirit Festival supports the St.Amant Foundation, this event is an opportunity to support and celebrate diversity and belonging within our community!
The Festival takes place at St.Amant, 440 River Road in the Buhler Gardens and in Parking lot C - fun begins at 10 am to 2 pm.
There are opportunities for all abilities. Participants are invited to join the 5k run or the 2k walk (or roll). This is an amazing opportunity to challenge yourself, family and friends to be active while raising pledges in support of St.Amant Foundation.
If you are unable to make the festival, you are also welcome to fundraise individually or as a team.
With your help, we can enhance the quality of life for more than 5,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities, autism and acquired brain injuries. Funds raised will provide opportunities for people supported by St.Amant to create friendships, to stay active, to learn, to be independent, and to have fun!
What to expect on September 19th:
- Family friendly activities such as inflatable bouncers, face painting, games, bubbles and more!
- Food
- Live entertainment for children and adults
- 2k walk or roll for all to enjoy
- 5k run ($25 registration fee)
- Artisans Market
- & more!
And most importantly - it is FREE to attend and FREE to register for the Walk and start your fundraising today!
FREQUENTY ASKED QUESTIONS:
I want to join the 2k Walk, do I have to register?
NO - registration is not required to participate in the 2k Walk. However, registering for the walk will allow you to create a fundraising page to collect pledges. All walkers are encouraged to collect pledges - every dollar counts!
I want to join the 5k Run, do I have to register?
YES - registration is required to participate in the 5k Run. It will allow us to ensure we are providing all the require safety for our runner. There is also a $25 registration fee for the run.
I want to collect pledges but don't think I can raise a large amount, should I still register and create a fundraising page?
YES - everyone is encouraged to register and start collecting pledges. There is no number too small when it comes to fundraising.
I can't make it to the Festival, can I still collect pledges to help raise funds?
YES - simply register for the "Walk OR Collect Pledges" and from there you'll be prompted to create your fundraising page. Paper pledge forms are also available at freethespiritfestival.ca - click here.
Is everything at the Festival on Saturday, September 19 free?
Thanks to our
incredible sponsors, the entertainment such as inflatable bouncers,
face paint, bubble lab, popcorn station, live entertainment,
browsing the Artisans Market and more is all FREE.
Lunch tickets are available for purchase on site, and donations
are warmly welcomed.
