My personal message:

Again this year, I am joining with other people from Memorial, working and retired, to raise funds for the East Coast Trail.    In approaching you, I have two options: 1) Ask for money and 2) Urge you join the group and ask your friends for money.    Since joining the group implies a commitment to take a hike on June 8, my approach has been to take the burden of a hike on my own shoulders (feet?) and allow my friends buy their way our of exertion by funding my efforts.    What more could anyone ask?    Unaccustomed as I am to playing the martyr card, in this good cause I make an exception.

As the Association states:

The East Coast Trail unites genuine wilderness hiking with richly historic communities from Portugal Cove, to Cape St. Francis, to Cappahayden. There are over 300 kilometers of developed trail to explore.    For twenty-four years, volunteers, members, businesses and communities have helped build and protect the East Coast Trail.

And all you need do is follow the link at the end of the message before sitting back and contemplating the bugs and sweat that you are avoiding. ;)

To receive a charitable tax receipt for your contribution of $20 or greater please be sure to provide your full name, mailing address and email address.

Thank you!

The East Coast Trail Association is a registered charity BN#899356364 RR0001. All donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable donation receipt per Canada Revenue Agency rules.
