Help me support the Bruce Trail!
This October I’ll be participating in the annual Bruce Trail Hike-a-thon for the third consecutive year. Not only will I be spending time on this fantastic footpath, I will be joining other Hike-a-thoners in raising funds to ensure the future of the Bruce Trail and support the conservation efforts of the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
Over the past two years I have raised $1 445 and hiked 211 km during the month of October to support the Bruce Trail Conservancy's mission of 'preserving a ribbon of wilderness, for everyone, forever."
This year I am setting an ambitious goal to hike at least 125 km and raise at least $1 000. As always I'll be providing weekly updates of my progress to my sponsors, as well as some photos from the trail as a thank you for your generous donations. This year I will once again be sweeping one of the days of the Caledon Hills End-to-End, enjoying local after-work hikes in the Caledon/Toronto/Iroquoia sections, as well as working towards completing as much of the Peninsula section as I can before the snow.
I’m asking you to support me in raising much needed funds for the Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) because…
- 40% of the Bruce Trail corridor is still vulnerable to development,
- The Bruce Trail Conservancy preserves and actively stewards land along the Niagara Escarpment - a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that is home to hundreds of Ontario's Species at Risk, vital watersheds, and 450 million year old geological history,
- You believe in preserving access to greenspace for generations to come.
