Help me support the Bruce Trail!
This October I’ll be participating in the 6th annual Bruce Trail Hike-a-thon. As some of you already know, it'll be my third consecutive year to participte. Not only will I be spending time on this fantastic footpath, I will be joining other Hike-a-thoners in raising funds to ensure the future of the Bruce Trail and support the conservation efforts of the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
Without the Bruce Trail, we would have to look further for hiking, and it may not be possible to do any interesting, challenging and scenic day hikes.
I’m asking you to support me in raising much needed funds for the Bruce Trail Conservancy (BTC) because…
- 32% of the Bruce Trail corridor is still vulnerable to development; (with some of your generous donations in the last couple of years, the number has dropped from 40% to 32%)
- The Bruce Trail Conservancy preserves and actively stewards land along the Niagara Escarpment - a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that is home to hundreds of Ontario's Species at Risk, vital watersheds, and 450 million-year-old geological history,
- You believe in preserving access to greenspace for generations to come.
Just click the "Sponsor Me" button to make a donation.
Please take a moment to ponder two of my favourite John Muir's quotes:
"The practical importance of the preservation of our forests is augmented by their relations to climate, soil and streams" - John Muir
"The gross heathenism of civilization has generally destroyed nature, and poetry, and all that is spiritual" - John Muir
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
