Welcome to our page in celebration of Ella's 1st Birthday!
This fundraiser was started on October 11, 2018.
On this page, donations can be made to support innovative health care through Surrey Hospital & Outpatient Centre Foundation.
Our baby girl was monitored closely in utero (3-4 times per week) by Maternal Fetal Medicine at Jim Pattison Centre from 20 weeks until 37 weeks. At 37 weeks, she was delivered through c section, and admitted to Surrey Memorial Nicu Unit. Ella was 4lbs 11oz when she was born. Ella was an IUGR baby (she was not growing in Utero) due to various different issues.
I was consumed with stress and worry that I would lose her during my entire pregancy. The support that we received (almost every day) at Jim Pattison Centre was invaluable. Huge thank you to Dr. Grabowska and her team of specialists. Dr. Oisin Coll delivered Ella at SMH at 37 weeks and I could not have been in more capable hands. The nurses (especially Vimmi and her team of nurses) at SMH took amazing care of me as Ella was whisked off to NICU. The Nicu Unit team was reassuring and wonderful. They made us feel as at ease as we could have considering our circumstances.
I can not even begin to repay these two foundations and the support we received.
Today, Ella is doing really well, thanks to this amazing early care. She still goes through routine bloodwork, testing, MRIs etc (that no baby/child should ever have to go through) but we are so thankful that we live somewhere where all these resources are avaialble to us). But these foundations need community support.
If you feel inclined please help... in honor of Ella. Just click "Sponsor Us" to make a donation. We will be requesting that all our donations benefit Surrey Hospital Nicu and Jim Pattison Fetal Monitoring.
Even if you can not make a monetary donation to either foundation... we request positivity and smiles.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, positive thoughts and well wishes!
