My personal message:

On New Years Day, my kids and I will be dipping in Lake Ontario to support Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (Boost CYAC). Each year Boost CYAC sees approximately 800 children and teens for abuse investigations and sees another 1,000 children in trauma treatment and court preparation programs.   The road to getting help for an abused child can be confusing, intimidating and traumatizing.  Children are often required to retell the story of their abuse to 5 or more professionals before they can begin their road to healing.  Boost CYAC brings police, child protection workers, nurses, advocates, trauma therapists and court support workers under one roof so a chid only has to tell their story once. This one-stop process takes the burden off of children and their families already facing high levels of stress and anxiety.

I've been involved with Boost with my wife for 10+ years and we remain very impressed by the impact of Boost CYAC's work in the community and will be doing the Toronto Polar Bear Dip on New Year's Day to help raise funds for them.

Please sponsor my dip and help me reach my fundraising goal.  Thank you.
