My husband is a two time bone marrow transplant recipient and a survivor of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) He is alive today not only because of the research that has been funded in the past, but because of the many brave individuals that have been willing to undergo difficult experimental treatments. He received an experimental transplant that has hopefully advanced science to help others in the future.
Both of his transplants were performed at Moffitt Cancer Center and I would like to thank his primary bone marrow doctor, Dr. Ernesto Ayala, and his assistant, Denise LaFave, as well as the entire staff at Moffitt for the world class care that he received while undergoing treatment. Moffitt Cancer Center is truly a special place and we are very lucky to have this faciltiy that Mr. Moffitt worked very hard to to bring to the Tampa Bay area as well as the State of Florida.
Please join Cure on Wheels to make a difference and ensure that our children and future generations will not have to think of cancer as a life altering disease.
