Help us support the fight against AIDS! We are participating in the 2011 Trump AIDS Poker Walk to assist our friends at OGLM in Uganda with their new clinic called Buwaiswa Health Center. Just recently built, the clinic welcomes everybody in the area and treats patients for all illnesses, such as malaria, but also dispenses HIV/AIDS medications and functions as a training base for health needs related to HIV/AIDS. They provide care to new and expecting mothers and offer information on reproductive health, family planning, etc.  There are two nurses and a midwife on staff and a doctor visits every Wednesday. OGLM also operates the Buwaiswa Orphanage and Children's Home where up to 100 children are cared for and supports 270 Grannies who are the caregivers to more than 600 HIV/AIDS affected children. 

Did you know that 32,000,000 women, children, men are now living with HIV/AIDS? As many more have already died! AIDS is a war on women and children. More than 50% of adults living with HIV are female - often monogamous mothers who are powerless to say "no" to unprotected sex. There are 12,000,000 orphans in sub-Saharan Africa alone but no community is immune (73,000 cases in Canada).
