Homeless youth in Vancouver face a harsh reality. Here’s your chance to change that.

On March 7, 2018, experience life through the eyes of homeless youth. A Night in the Life fundraiser is an experiential event which debunks myths and challenges your perceptions about youth homelessness in Vancouver.

At A Night in the Life you will:

• Take a youth-led tour of life on the streets
• Test your luck in a homelessness survival simulator
• Eat a typical meal in the day of a homeless youth
• Experience what it’s like to sleep on the street
• Aim to raise awareness and much needed funds for homeless youth

All money raised goes to the Directions Youth Services food program.

How to participate

To take part in the tour, simulation, and sleep out on March 7, 2018, participants must be 19+ and commit to raising a minimum of $5,000. Spaces are limited to the top 20 fundraisers. Will you take on the challenge to support our youth?

About the Directions Youth Services food program

Last year, Directions provided 49,621 hot meals and snacks to at-risk, street-involved youth. Meals are offered 7 days a week, 365 days a year and are often the only source of good nutrition for homeless youth.

The food program helps youth learn healthy eating habits, develop positive relationships with peers and support staff, and build essential life skills to help them get back on their feet.

The cost of running a quality food program continues to increase and it is difficult to reliably secure fresh fruit, vegetables and other nutritious ingredients while keeping up with demand at four facilities.

With your help, we can continue to provide healthy, nourishing meals for youth.
