I am writing this story to tell about my new daughter. She only recently came into my life as a foster child 6 months ago.

What I have learned about Jess, in these last 6 months, is that she is athletic, kind, caring, artistic, smart, funny and thinks of others before herself.

She also has recently been diagnosed with PTSD. This disorder makes it almost impossible for her believe that there is anywhere in the world that is safe. Even at home she is unable to do most of the things that she used to enjoy.

Jess loves animals, and has always found them to be a comforting presence in her life. We believe that a service dog for Jess will help her regain her sense of safety and that she could start to get back some of the freedom that this illness has taken from her.

Her arrival in my life has changed it for the better in ways that I couldn’t have expected. I would like to help her to improve her life, and get back to doing some of the things that she used to love.  Help us to reach her goal of renewed independence and hope.
