Hello, I’m Izzy. I’m 17 years old and I suffer from a lot of physical health challenges like Type 2 Diabetes, POTS and Myofascial Pain Syndrome as well as mental health challenges like PTSD, Anxiety and Depression along with Autism.

My health journey has been going on since I was about 8 years old. I've seen plenty of doctors and take a lot of medication daily. Currently it’s gotten to the point where I need a cane to walk and can’t go out for long periods of time like other teenagers. I am working on this, and am proud to say I’ve made some small progress.

My school life isn’t great. My PTSD and sensory issues make it hard for me to be in school buildings or crowded public places for extended amounts of time. I’m planning on going to college soon, however I know I’ll struggle with being alone.

That’s why a service dog is so important to me.  The dog will be trained to do tasks that will help me overcome my specific challenges, and help me stay calm and navigate through stressful situations. 

Being approved for a service dog from K4Paws has given me hope.  Having a service dog by my side will give me the encouragement and confidence to get out more, do more things and experience life without as much fear.
