Yes, I want to support the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute
The Institute was launched on April 2, 2009 and is named in honour of the late Beatrice Hunter of River John, Nova Scotia. Over a decade ago, Mrs. Hunter bequeathed $12.5 million to Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation for cancer research, in memory of her parents, Dr. Owen and Mrs. Pearle Cameron.
Beatrice Hunter's extraordinary gift was the catalyst that sparked a decade of rapid growth in local cancer research capabilities. Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation now directs all of its cancer donations to the Institute and provides charitable tax receipts for those gifts on behalf of the Institute.
Your donation to the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI) provides funding for established cancer researchers and their trainees in universities, hospital and research laboratories throughout Atlantic Canada. BHCRI is the region's only institute that funds all aspects of cancer research, including basic science, clinical and population health research. Donation funds help to leverage grants and contributions from government and other charities which in turn further build capacity and enhance the critical mass of research expertise in the Atlantic region.
Offical receipts for income tax purposes will be issued and mailed by Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation. (Cheques should be made payable to Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.)
