Jim Thomas and NSD Vitus
I have been a member of the Ontario
Provincial Police since 1986. Prior to that, I served for almost
nine years with Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Policeman. I
have also served in the Middle East teaching Iraqi police cadets
principles of democratic policing. In 2007 I was diagnosed with
PTSD and continue to struggle with residual symptoms of
hyper-vigilance and night terrors. I cannot be in crowded places
and am easily startled by unexpected noises.
With much gratitude to National
Service Dogs and many supporters, in October 2015, I received NSD
Vitus, Certified Service Dog for PTSD.
