Tyler and NSD Cian
Hello my name is Tyler, I am a happy, loving 8 year old boy. I was
born with a very rare chromosomal syndrome. I live in Cambridge with
my mom Laura and my dad Sean, I have one younger sister Bria. They all
help me when I need things. I need help every day with getting dressed
and all aspects of daily living. I can’t talk yet but I communicate a
bit with a speech board and some sign language. My syndrome causes me
to be unsteady on my feet and have low muscle tone. I am very excited
to receive NSD Cian. He will help to keep me safe when I am out in
public and allow me to have more independence while walking. When I
get overwhelmed or frustrated Cian will help me stay calm. Cian will
help me at home and school. He can go to the mall when we go shopping
to keep me safe. I love to hug people even if I don’t know them. I
haven’t learned to stay with parents when we are out. Cian can prevent
me from wandering off (guess you could say I am pretty sneaky).
Sometimes at night when I can’t sleep it will be nice to have Cian to
pet to relax me.
My family is asking for any donations to the National Service Dogs on
my behalf to help this organisation raise money to be able to train
such amazing dogs. No donation is too small, every bit counts!
Thank you, Tyler
