Support Corin and his future
National Service Dog
Corin is an energetic, intelligent,
charming, witty and loving seven-year-old boy, who happens to be on
the autism spectrum. He has a passion for technology and an
unrelenting determination for programming video games.
While it often provides him with a unique
perspective on the world, Corin’s autism leaves him with a host of
challenges. He experiences tremendous anxiety in transitioning from
the home, and from activity to activity. This makes everyday
experiences such as school, family outings, or simple walks or bike
rides through the neighborhood a major event. He is unable to complete
simple tasks such as accompanying his parents to the grocery store, as
the environment sends him into a sensory overload, which ultimately
ends in a meltdown or running away into dangerous circumstances.
It is our hope that a service dog will
provide Corin with the ability to perform everyday life tasks and give
him the comfort to transition to different places without anxiety and
fear. We are hopeful a service dog will also help him to regulate his
sensory processing and provide him with an avenue to engage with his
peers and make new friends – something he very desperately wants to do!
Thank you in advance for supporting Corin and providing him with the
opportunity to experience the little things in the world around him!
Thank you to Rawz
Natural Pet Food for their generous support of Corin and his
future service dog.
Special thanks to LondonSUP for hosting the Stand
Up for Autism fundraiser in support of Corin's family and NSD's
autism program.
