Grace and Harley
Grace was one of the first to apply for a K4Paws Service Dog in early
2014. She and Harley were matched in late June 2015 and they became a
team on August 1, 2015. Grace's mother, Tracey, tells you what it has
been like:
"Wow, what a whirlwind our lives have been over the past year!
Grace hit a low last March which put her in the hospital for a week, a
change in medications and more frequent visits to the hospital. She
had missed a lot of school (30+ days) but finished her year with an
90% average. I am so proud of this girl. The end of June brought some
light into our lives. Harley was finally coming home to Grace. She has
been with us ever since.
If I could tell Harley what I think about her it would go something
like this: Harley, I can’t thank you enough for bringing such
confidence to Grace. Little by little she carries her head a little
higher, she speaks louder, she advocates about mental health and she
has grown in maturity and has become very wise. This is a girl who
about a year ago could not handle the stresses of day to day living
and who now embraces each day. She looks forward to going to school on
a daily basis and has not missed any days so far this year! Harley you
bring so much to the relationship between the two of you that it is
almost unbelievable.
Grace seldom isolates herself from the family and if she does you can
bet Harley is with her. Harley won’t take her eyes off Grace. Even at
home, when Grace leaves the room, Harley follows. The two of them have
such a strong connection. Harley brings joy to our lives and is such a
gift to Grace.
Although Harley lives with us, we are still working towards our
fundraising goal. We still have a long way to go. Please if you can
help it would be greatly appreciated. Even $5 helps. There is no
amount too little. If you donate over $20 or more you be issued a tax
receipt. Please, donate to help us help Grace and Harley."
Thank you also for your generous support. Please provide the
