Our son Jax was diagnosed with severe Autism at the age of 3. After
many therapies over the years including hyperbaric oxygen sessions,
naturopathic medical treatments, Intense Behavioural Interventions
using techniques based on an Applied Behavioural Analysis and
specialized diets his diagnosis still stands at severe. Since the
initial recognition of his condition he has also been diagnosed with
an intellectual disability.
Now at 11 years of age he still requires complete and constant
supervision all day every day. In school and other programs outside of
the home he is considered a flight risk and needs one-on-one guidance
at all times. Jax is non-verbal and has no concept of danger.
We feel a service dog would be a huge benefit to Jax and our family,
not only for his safety but with his anxiety which leads him into
self-harming meltdowns. And most importantly he needs a forever friend
