This yellow lab is NOT just a dog. Humphrey is now
my independence as I have just turned 18 and we have a lot of living
to do. My autism and medical health problems have always kept me
close to my family for safety and security. Now that I have Humphrey,
I can start to live my own life the way I want to. I am now able to
attend medical appts by myself. Covid times have prevented me from
really living but puppy steps is what we are doing right now.
Kingston 4 Paws makes me feel like I belong when the
training was up and running. I was able to participate all by
myself. This was so cool because this was the first time without any
human hovering over me. I am now more active because this dog needs
exercise and lots of it. They also demand to be fed twice a day and
that helps me schedule myself. I now rest easier and so do my parents
because Humphrey alerts me to my heart or seizure problems. He might
snore but it makes me chuckle before bed. He is just amazing...
We met our fundraising goal and had a lot of fun
doing it. I had very special friends and family help me start the
bottle drive craze. The community stepped up and I hope to help out
and give back just as I have received with the help of my doggo....
I cannot express enough thanks to everyone that made this happen for me.
