Sean is sixteen years old with CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder, which is
defined by multiple seizure types and global delays. He is non verbal,
but has a very expressive face and a love for life.
He has daily seizures even after trying brain surgery, diets and a
variety of medications. Sean isn’t able to sleep alone in a bed due to
the fact that he has seizures at night and SUDEP (sudden unexpected
death in epilepsy) is possible and too much of a risk; so he always
sleeps beside someone.
Sean is one happy teen with a love of Mickey Mouse, computer games,
music and being outside. He enjoys biking, walks and swimming as well!
Sean requires 24/7 care and with a seizure response service dog, the
hope is he might be able to sleep by himself, have a 24 hour BEST
friend who could help to stabilize him when walking and chase after
balls that Sean tosses. Sean loves animals and enjoys the feel of
their hair as he is so sensory. We can’t wait until he finds the right match!
Big thank you to Kingston 4 Paws who approved Sean to receive a
seizure response service dog. We are so looking forward to the
possibilities a service dog for Sean can bring and can’t wait to meet
his new best friend!
