Our son Logan is an amazing 8 year old, full of
love. He was diagnosed with severe Autism and Cerebral Palsy at the
age of 3. Logan is non verbal and has no concept of danger. He has
completed intense behavioural intervention program, has been enrolled
in ABA programming, and is enrolled in speech therapy. Logan uses
augmentative services and communicates with an IPad.
Logan has been approved for an Autism service dog
through Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs. His new puppy will help with his
outbursts and anxiety, will stop Logan from being able to dart off and
run away, will offer support to Logan in social settings, and also one
of Logan’s biggest sensory release is deep pressure which the service
dog will be trained to give Logan pressure when he needs it. The
service dog will be able to go where ever Logan does, giving Logan
independence, sense of security, and companionship no matter where he is.
The cost for the training of the service dog is
more than $20 000 and we as a family are not asked to pay any of this.
All we are asked to do if we are able to, is fundraise to offset some
of the costs as Kingston 4 Paws receives no funding and only runs off
of donations.
Please join Logan on this incredible opportunity
in getting his new best friend.
