Ren is a bright, gentle nine-year-old who loves learning, soccer, and music. He is academically successful and hopes to enter an academic challenge program in Kingston in the coming years. While excited about this goal, Ren is autistic and experiences anxiety around transitions, unfamiliar environments, and direct social attention.
Ren does not enjoy being hugged or touched by others, but he finds comfort in calm, predictable physical connection, like cuddling his cat. A service dog would provide grounding support through deep pressure, help create respectful boundaries around physical contact, and soften social situations by absorbing attention.
With the support of K4Paws, a service dog would help Ren navigate important academic and social transitions with confidence and focus on learning rather than fear.
We are so grateful to have been approved for a K4Paws Service Dog at no cost to our family. It gives us such incredible hope for Ren to have a brighter future with a trusted companion by his side to provide unconditional love and support.
