All lessons are 100% coordinated and=0D=0A  taught by volunteers. VASS creates opportunities for volunteers who=0D=0A  want to contribute to their community while having fun in an outdoor,=0D=0A  recreational setting. If you can volunteer for at least 2 years it s a=0D=0A  real benefit to our students=0D=0A=0D=0A  Opportunities for Volunteering=0D=0A=0D=0A- On the Mountain Ski Instructor with CADS certification =0D=0A=0D=0A- Previous on the Mountain Assistant Instructor that need to get CADS certification=0D=0A=0D=0AAll instructors must:=0D=0A=0D=0A  BEFORE YOU REGISTER, GET YOUR BC Adaptive Snowsport MEMBERSHIP***=0D=0A=0D=0AAs a returning volunteer with a 2019-20 BCAS membership you should=0D=0A  have received a renewal notification with a link to renew your BCAS=0D=0A  membership ($48) .  If you have not received it please contact BCAS=0D=0A    at info@bcadaptive.com =0D=0A   All volunteers are required to be current members of BC Adaptive=0D=0A  Snowsports for insurance purposes.  Before you register, get your BC=0D=0A  Adaptive Snowsport membership number.  It is required as part of the=0D=0A  registration process. =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A      2. Have a current Criminal Records Check (CRC) - valid for 3=0D=0A  years - If you think you need one, please have it done. We will be=0D=0A  using a new system to record CRC's this year, so please make sure you=0D=0A  are ready to upload a CRC by mid October.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe CRC must be done by the police or RCMP where you reside. See=0D=0A  further information at http://www.vass.ca/registration-criminal-records-checks/.=0D=0A  Or for a fee you can do your CRC through Backcheck .=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A     3.  We have 17 program to choose from this year and we are=0D=0A  asking all returning volunteers to commit to a 9 week commitment=0D=0A  starting the first Monday of January.  The first 2 weeks will be open=0D=0A  to drop-in lessons or extra training sessions and then we will have=0D=0A  our regular programming, including an orientation night and a 6 week=0D=0A  session for our student.   This is going to allow us to service more=0D=0A  students than even before.   Blue Streaks Race and All Mountain=0D=0A  actually run 10 weeks.  I am sure that you are aware that all=0D=0A  returning volunteers will be getting a  Grouse Mnt Season Pass as well=0D=0A  as tickets at other mountains if you are teaching there.  There will=0D=0A  be several skiing and riding improvement SKIMP sessions as well as=0D=0A  other training opportunities through out the season.
