But how do you develop the skills needed to work=0D=0A  as a children?s book editor? And how is editing for children different=0D=0A  from editing for adults? This online workshop will address the basics=0D=0A  of children?s publishing, how to get work as a children?s book editor,=0D=0A  the different genres within children?s publishing, and special=0D=0A  considerations when editing for each age group. Over four 90-minute=0D=0A  sessions, we will cover:=0D=0A=0D=0A  The children?s publishing landscape in Canada, including the=0D=0A    different genres and formats within children?s publishing=0D=0A  Editing picture books=0D=0A  Editing chapter books and fiction for middle-grade readers=0D=0A  Editing children?s non-fiction=0D=0A=0D=0AEach session will include tips for building your experience and=0D=0A  finding work as a children?s editor. Editors do not need any previous=0D=0A  experience in publishing to attend this workshop. Each online session=0D=0A  will include a short assignment or reading, with time for discussion=0D=0A  and questions.=0D=0A=0D=0A  Paula Ayer is an editor at Greystone Books and=0D=0A  previously worked for Annick Press, where she edited, developed,=0D=0A  wrote, translated, and art directed a variety of children?s books,=0D=0A  specializing in non-fiction for middle-grade readers and teens. She=0D=0A  has authored or co-authored three award-winning children?s non-fiction=0D=0A  books as well as a picture book.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A
