DESCRIPTION:\n  Eight-Step Editing \n  \n\nwith Moira White\n  \n\nWhen: Saturday\, April 23 and April 30\, 9:00 am to noon PDT\nWhere: Online via Zoom\nEight-Step Editing teaches an approach to editing that helps editors\n  and writers alike. This lively\, hands-on workshop takes highly honed\n  skills that are second nature to professional editors and breaks them\n  down into a sequence of eight actions that will improve and clarify\n  the text. Everyone who has ever changed a sentence in an email or a\n  report can benefit from this workshop\, as can experienced editors\n  wanting a quick\, strategic approach to editing.\nEach participant will receive a workbook full of explanations\,\n  exercises\, and helpful references.\n\n  Moira White (she/her) is an Ottawa-based editor\,\n  writer\, and trainer with decades of experience editing\, writing\, and\n  teaching for government and corporate clients. She has taught briefing\n  notes courses to many government departments\, agencies\, and\n  corporations both in person and virtually using a variety of\n  platforms. She has also given a series of webinars for editors.\nMoira holds a master’s degree in social policy. She has managed\n  on-site production of reports in Canada and Europe and has travelled\n  across Canada with public consultations\, writing\, editing\, and\n  producing reports. Her specialties include synthesizing the work of\n  multiple authors\, writing to tight deadlines\, and writing executive summaries.\nShe is an honorary life member and past president of Editors Canada.\n\n  \n  Seminar\n  Recording Notice:\n  Editors BC will be recording these sessions using Zoom’s\n  record feature. The data captured may include your image (including\n  your name if it appears in your video image) and voice recordings. The\n  Zoom recordings will be made available to registered seminar\n  participants for a period of two weeks following the session. After\n  that time\, the recording will no longer be available to participants.\n  If you have any questions or concerns about the recording\, please\n  contact Claire Majors at pd1@editorsbc.ca. Session\n  participants are not permitted to make their own recordings\, by any\n  means\, and are forbidden from distributing the recording they receive\n  from the session.
