DESCRIPTION:McKenzie Lake Community Associations runs 8 themed weeks of fun\n  filled and action packed Summer Camps. The camps run from 9am-4pm.\nBefore and after care is available for an additional charge of\n  $50/week on top of the camp fee.  Before and after care is available\n  from 7am - 5:30pm. \nWeekly camp fees are $225. \nCamp week 1 and 6 fees are $180 due to the camp being closed on\n  Monday\, July 1 and Monday\, August 5.\n\n  You may also choose to provide a $25 non-refundable fee to\n    hold a spot for you in each camp week.  This will guarantee you a\n    place in the camp and allow you to pay for camps in seperate\n    payments\, rather than all at once.  The $25 applied to each week as\n    a place holder will go towards the registration of each particular week.\n\nAge accepted: Children must be going into grade 1 for September 2024\n  with the age limit up to children going into Grade 6 for Sept 2024. \nPLEASE CALL NADINE AT 403-257-1823 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS\n  REGARDING REGISTRATION\, PROGRAMMING AND ITINERARY FOR SUMMER CAMPS. \nALL CAMPS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE:\n\n  Dates and themes:\n\nAdventures Unlimited: July 2-5\n\n   \n\n\n  “We’re going on an adventure!” – The Hobbit\nThis week the campers will have the opportunity to explore the forest\n  behind the community center. We are going to be participating in a\n  team scavenger hunt as well as playing capture the flag! Weather\n  depending\, we will be having picnics out in the forest too! Not only\n  are we having outdoor picnics\, but we will have a pancake breakfast\n  one morning\, so please join us on these incredible adventures!\n \n \nEarth Week: July 8-12\n \n“Good morning\, starshine the earth says hello” –\n  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.\nThis week the campers have a whole week to celebrate and appreciate\n  our earth! We will be making handmade bird feeders out of pinecones\,\n  seeds and other goodies for the birds. We will also take a walk down\n  to fish creek park to explore all it has to offer\, like the water and\n  the fishes as well as the trees and nature surrounding us!\n \nScience Week: July 15-19\n\n   \n\n\n  “Science Rules!” – Bill Nye\nDuring science week\, our campers will put on their lab coats and\n  goggles and get ready to participate in creating giant bubbles and\n  cloud dough! The campers will also use their creativity and\n  problem-solving skills to create their best marshmallow towers that\n  can withstand a pre-set weight based on the kids! We can’t wait to see\n  how the campers use their big brains!\n \nWet N’ Wild: July 22-26\n\n   \n\n\n  “Just keep swimming!” – Finding Nemo\nWho’s ready to get wet during our wet’ N wild week? Come prepared to\n  be splashed\, sprayed and drenched when we participate in a week of\n  water wars and relay races! We also have a Shark themed water slide\n  that will be set up for the campers to bounce around on! We can’t wait\n  to get wet and wild with the campers!\n \nCarnival Week: July 29-Aug 2\n \n“da da da da da da da da circus” – Madagascar 3 \n\nCome one\, come all to our carnival week! This week the campers will\n  be participating in many different carnival games like magnet fishing\,\n  sack races\, and a variety of minute-to-win-it games! What carnival is\n  complete without a show\, so prepare to be amazed by a real live magician!\n \n \nGalaxy Quest: Aug 6-9\n\n   \n\n\n  “To infinity and beyond!” – Toy Story\nLet’s jump in our spaceship and blast off as we explore the galaxy\n  above! This week the campers will be able to create their own rocket\n  ships and explore their marshmallow constellations! We will also be\n  learning about the different constellations that we see in the night\n  sky. The campers will also have a chance to make their own toilet\n  paper roll constellations that show in the dark!\n \nAnimal Week: Aug 12-16\n\n   \n\n\n  “Look for the bare necessities!” – The Jungle Book.\nThis week is dedicated to our shared love of animals! The campers\n  will be amazed by all the different animal origami they will learn to\n  make! We will also be playing games like animal charades and animal\n  bingo! We hope these campers are ready for a party because Reptile\n  Parties are coming to visit our camp! He is bringing a variety of\n  different reptiles that we will learn about and even have the\n  possibility of petting!\n \nCreative Kids: Aug 19-23\n\n   \n\n\n  “Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our\n  children!” – Walt Disney.\nAre you a singer\, a dancer or artistically creative? Then this week\n  is for you! We want to see all your talents as we wrap up the summer!\n  The kids will participate in karaoke and talent shows! We will also\n  have a variety of different mediums for the campers to get creative\n  with\, including sidewalk chalk\, water colour paints\, cardboard for\n  construction and a whole bunch more!\n \n \n** Please note that there may be slight changes to this schedule as\n  we do not know what the summer holds for us\, and if needed\, we will do\n  our best to reschedule our guests!\n \n \n\n  \n    If the camp you want to register\n      for is full please email mlcafac@telus.net \n  \n  \n    to be placed on a waitlist.\n  \n
