Along=0D=0A  the way, he?s trained new journalists in supervisory roles and judged=0D=0A  many writing competitions for various food and travel writing=0D=0A  organizations. =0D=0A=0D=0AIn this talk, Don will share how he got his dream job of telling=0D=0A  stories about food and travel. His largest project to date is updating=0D=0A  and adding to his first published book, which combines storytelling=0D=0A  with a guide to Vancouver Island food artisans. Don will talk about=0D=0A  the challenge of keeping everything organized and how he learned that=0D=0A  self-editing has become a reality in today?s world of DIY everything.=0D=0A  And he?ll show some pretty photos of what he?s working on!=0D=0A    =0D=0A=0D=0A  =0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A  Don Genova, originally from Ontario, has been=0D=0A  covering the food and travel scene in Canada and internationally since=0D=0A  1997. An award-winning journalist with a master?s degree in Food=0D=0A  Culture from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy, Don=0D=0A  hosted Pacific Palate and Food for Thought on CBC=0D=0A  Radio and contributed pieces for the Globe and Mail,=0D=0A    National Post, enRoute Magazine, and YAM=0D=0A  among others. He also teaches the popular online Food and Travel=0D=0A  Writing course with UBC Extended Learning. He?s now preparing a second=0D=0A  and expanded edition of his 2014 book Food Artisans of Vancouver=0D=0A    Island and the Gulf Islands. =0D=0A
