DESCRIPTION:\n  Editing the Art of Comic Book Lettering: An Introduction \n  \n\nWhen: Saturday\, December 13\, 2025\, 10:00 am to 11:30 am PST\nWhere: Online via Zoom\nBeyond proofreading and copy editing the text in comics\, editing the\n  art and design of the lettering is an integral responsibility of comic\n  book editors. This seminar will guide you in understanding the art of\n  lettering and its place as the last stage of production. Participants\n  will develop an appreciation for how what comes before—in the writing\,\n  the art\, and the colouring—all have a role in the success the\n  lettering will play in the final product. \nIn this seminar\, you’ll learn:\n\n  Why composition\, clarity\, consistency\, and purpose are key to the\n    art of lettering\n  Where font selection\, versatility\, conditions\, and parameters\n    affect readability\n  How size reflects volume in speech and sound effects\n  How placement of lettering helps guide reading order and eye flow\n\nJoin us in this introductory webinar to learn the stylistic editing\n  of text\, shapes\, order\, and design within the panels and pages of comics. \nThis seminar will be recorded. \nOver the past 38 years\, Steve Colle's experience in\n  the comic industry has consisted of retail\, editorial\, marketing\,\n  and—most passionately—teaching\, with his focus on quality and audience\n  appeal bringing dozens of projects to fruition. In 2018\, Steve founded\n  the Comic Book Editors Alliance\, a private Facebook group dedicated to\n  the professional development of its members\, instilling pride and\n  integrity in comic book editing.
