But with the freedom of\n    running your own business comes the challenge of managing the\n    marketing\, doing all the admin\, and\, perhaps most daunting\, figuring\n    out fair pricing for your services. \n   \n\n\n  In this\n    month’s general meeting\, Suzanne Bowness\, author of\n      The Feisty Freelancer\, will lead a presentation all about\n    pricing. Understand some of the different pricing models and\n    strategies available\, how and when to raise your rates\, and when\n    it’s okay to say no or accept less. There will also be some sample\n    project descriptions to test your estimating skills against fellow\n    editors and a frank discussion about editors’ current rates\, so come\n    prepared to talk numbers!\n   \n   \n\n\n   About the Speaker\n  \n\n\n  Suzanne\n    (Sue) Bowness is a writer\, editor\, content strategist\, and author\n      of\n    The Feisty Freelancer: A Friendly Guide to Visioning\,\n      Planning\, and Growing Your Writing Business (Dundurn Press\,\n    2025). Her writing has appeared in publications from The Globe\n      and Mail to University Affairs magazine. Since 2002\,\n    she has provided content creation\, editing\, and consulting services\n    to corporate clients through her business\, CodeWord Communications.\n
