DESCRIPTION:On-Demand Lunch &amp\; Learn:\n\n \n Engaging Racialized Communities: Inclusive\n Group Facilitation Skills\n \n \n Original air date: October 10 2025\, \n \n \n \n 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. ET\n           \n \n \n \n \n\nGroup conversations can be powerful spaces for connection\, but they\n can also unintentionally create harm particularly when issues of\n identity\, power\, and equity are at play. This interactive session is\n designed to strengthen the skills of facilitating discussions that are\n safe\, inclusive\, and purposeful.\nParticipants will be introduced to a practical de-escalation tool\n (Pause–Name–Frame–Invite) and a participation structure that helps\n ensure racialized and marginalized voices are heard without being\n sidelined. Grounded in both community-based and clinical practice\,\n this session integrates brief experiential activities including a\n grounding exercise\, a live word cloud\, and a reflective art activity.\nParticipants will leave with a one-page checklist and two\n ready-to-use scripts to support safer\, more intentional facilitation\n in groups and community spaces.\nPresented by: Sharlene Gumbs\, MSW\, RSW \nAvailable On-Demand Until: December 31\, 2025\nPricing:\n\n OASW Members: $15 + HST (OASW member ID # required)\n \n Non-Members: $20 + HST\n\nNOTE ABOUT REGISTRATION QUESTIONS:OASW is committed to inclusion\n and promoting a diverse range of identities\, experiences\,\n perspectives\, and voices across all areas of the Association.
