Event Description

Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy that has been effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD that have developed after experiencing a variety of traumatic events. In applying these materials, the focus becomes centered on the problematic patterns of thinking that were caused by the trauma and challenging them with healthy patterns of thought that can lead to a decrease in maladaptive behaviours. This workshop will focus on identifying an effective trauma treatment when working with clients struggling with substance use using CPT as an evidence-based approach.
