On Editing Poetry When: Wednesday, January 15, 7:00 to 8:00 pm PST Where: Online through Zoom
Cost: Editors Canada members, free; non-members, $10; student non-members, $5 Catriona Strang, senior editor at Talonbooks and author of six books of poetry, will delve into the specifics of editing poetry, including how the various editorial stages (particularly substantive and copy edits) are applicable to poetry manuscripts and the specific needs, demands, and challenges these texts present. Questions will be most welcome. Catriona Strang is a poet and an editor. She is a founding member of the Institute for Domestic Research and a member of the Kootenay School of Writing collective. She has written Low Fancy, Corked, Reveries of a Solitary Biker, and Unfuckable Lardass. Together with the late Nancy Shaw, she co-authored Busted, Cold Trip, and Light Sweet Crude, as well as editing a collection of Shaw’s works, The Gorge. |
