Presented by Catherine Chan
Research has shown that culture plays a
significant role in shaping attitudes, preferences, behaviors,
perceptions, and experiences related to palliative and end-of-life
care. Cultural and social barriers—such as differing beliefs about
death and dying—are key factors contributing to unmet needs in
palliative care. This webinar will provide an opportunity for mental
health professionals to explore essential tools for offering effective
interventions to racialized clients navigating palliative care challenges.
The session will highlight recent advancements
in Canada’s efforts toward culturally responsive palliative care. The
presenter will share a range of practical tools used to support
racialized clients and their families in overcoming cultural barriers
while managing chronic health conditions and end-of-life care.
Additionally, key recommendations for improving culturally competent
palliative care services will be presented.
Join us to learn, reflect, and contribute to
shaping more inclusive and culturally responsive palliative care practices
