Racial trauma continues to affect many
Black, Indigenous, and racialized social workers who face systemic
inequities and discrimination in professional settings. This webinar
offers a space for reflection and learning where participants will
explore how racial trauma shows up in social work practice and
workplaces. We will explore practical strategies to care for mental
health and advocacy for themselves and others, as an ally. Whether you
are new to the field or in a leadership role, this webinar intends to
support you with the skills and awareness to empower and advocate for
yourself in a professional setting.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understanding the nuances and complexities of what racial trauma is
and recognizing the mental health implications in professional settings
- Developing wellness techniques to cope with racial trauma in senior
positions and how to support a healthy, diverse team dynamic
- Implementing healthy strategies to navigate the workplace as a

for diverse professionals in the workplace for allies
Presenter Bio:
Huda Adnan is a Registered Social Worker, lead consultant, and
clinical supervisor at Noorelhuda: The Guiding Light Therapy and
Consulting Services. Noorelhuda provides holistic, trauma-informed
mental health care with a particular focus on supporting racialized
clients and supervisees. With over a decade of experience and
expertise, Huda has impacted numerous sectors—including nonprofits,
schools, community health, government, provincial and national
organizations—by advancing culturally attuned professional development
