RADIO OPERATOR CERTIFICATE (MARINE) – ROC(M)

Program Description

The ROC(M) course is essential for anyone operating a keelboat or spending significant time on the water. Students learn how to operate a VHF radio confidently, including calling other boats, communicating with marinas, and properly sending or receiving a Mayday signal in emergencies. The course covers all the key skills needed to navigate marine communication effectively, ensuring participants are prepared for a range of situations on the water. Students may earn the ROC (M) certification. The certification is a prerequisite for RPSA Keelboat Club membership.

Program Offerings (Schedule)

Class 1

· May 25 – 6:30pm to 9:30pm – Instructional Time

· June 1 – Exam starts at 6:30pm

Class 2

· September 28 – 6:30pm to 9:30pm – Instructional Time

· October 5 – Exam starts at 6:30pm
