Session Description:
This workshop will explore how to gain visibility into organizational AI investments and understand where and how AI is used across the enterprise. Speakers will define the key controls for a responsible AI compliance framework, enabling participants to align AI systems with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards while supporting strategic goals.
The session will cover how to implement prioritized initiatives that guide enterprises toward their desired compliance state, as well as techniques for tracking and measuring program success. Each section will include an informational overview, an activity for practical application, and a question-and-answer session to address specific participant concerns.
The workshop is designed for professionals with a baseline understanding of privacy, seeking to deepen their knowledge of AI governance and compliance. What you will learn:
• A practical framework for aligning AI systems with compliance requirements. • Identify and document AI systems across the enterprise to gain visibility into their purpose, usage, and associated risks. • Strategically plan and design initiatives that drive AI compliance maturity.
Speaker Bios: Carlos Chalico, Cybersecurity and Privacy Leader - EY Canada
Experienced cybersecurity, IT risk management and privacy professional. Utilizes a strategic approach to protect business and manage risk. Enjoys reading, writing, route-cycling, volunteering and playing drums.
As the EY Americas Metals & Mining Cybersecurity Leader, Carlos supports organizations to effectively address their challenges on cybersecurity, privacy, IT risk and IT governance matters. Carlos has helped metals and mining companies of all sizes keep up with the rapid evolution of cyber threats by keeping their data safe and leveraging technology to drive growth and innovation.
Beyond his professional role, Carlos teaches at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies and volunteers for the ISACA Toronto Chapter, IAPP Canada and the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA). He was appointed as a Privacy by Design Ambassador in 2011 by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Carlos holds a bachelor’s degree in IT Management and multiple designations related to cybersecurity, IT risk management and governance (CISA, CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CIPP/C, CIPM, FIP, ISO 27001 LA).
Safayat Moahamad, Director, Privacy and Cybersecurity - Info-Tech Research Group
Safayat is a Fellow of Information Privacy and an AI Governance Professional. He was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Experienced in cybersecurity, privacy, AI, legal and compliance he has coached teams on information protection across multiple sectors.
He is an avid follower of global data protection trends, as well as an advocate of privacy by design and ethical AI. Safayat is passionate to help organizations that operate at the intersection of innovation, commerce, and governance.
