Self-Publishing: The Why and How for Editors and Writers When: Wednesday, May 20, 7:00 to 8:30 pm PDT Where: Online through Zoom
Cost: Editors Canada members, free; non-members, $10; student non-members, $5 As editors, we may come across friends, colleagues, or clients who are considering self-publishing. Many of us are also writers ourselves, working on our own projects and wondering about publishing them. How much does self-publishing cost? Is it best to publish an ebook or a hardback? Do I need an ISBN? And what exactly is an ISBN? Alexandra Amor, The Self-Publishing Coach, will help to answer these questions and more, equipping you with knowledge you can pass on to your clients, or use for your own future bestseller. Please note, b efore the guest speaker session, Editors BC will be holding the Annual General Meeting and elections to fill vacancies for the 2026 – 2027 branch executive. While non-members are not eligible to run in these elections, they are welcome to sit in on the meeting while waiting for the presentation to begin. The elections will take about 15 minutes. Alexandra Amor mentors and guides authors who want to skip the confusing and sometimes overwhelming process and get their books published as quickly and efficiently as possible. She began her self-publishing career with an award-winning memoir about the ten years she accidentally spent in a cult in the 1990s. She also designs and formats beautiful interior book files for independent authors. Learn more at TheSelfPublishingCoach.com. |
