Self-Publishing: The Why and How for Editors and Writers

As editors, we may come across friends, colleagues, or clients who are considering self-publishing. Many of us are also writers ourselves, working on our own projects and wondering about publishing them. 

How much does self-publishing cost? Is it best to publish an ebook or a hardback? Do I need an ISBN? And what exactly is an ISBN? Please note, b efore the guest speaker session, Editors BC will be holding the Annual General Meeting and elections to fill vacancies for the 2026 – 2027 branch executive. While non-members are not eligible to run in these elections, they are welcome to sit in on the meeting while waiting for the presentation to begin. The elections will take about 15 minutes.
