Event Description

Join us for a beginner friendly Self-Defence workshop for women. We will cover hits, kicks, blocks, verbal self-defence, avoidance and awareness strategies, and share success stories of women stepping into the power they’ve had within them all along. Food will not be provided, so please plan to eat beforehand. Comfortable shoes are also recommended, as we’ll be moving around.

Instructor:

Alexandra Wiseman has spent the past decade working in mental health across a variety of roles including being a certified Wen-Do Women's Self Defence Instructor. Her love of movement informs a genuine belief in the mind-body connection. Alexandra holds a Bachelor and Master of Human Kinetics and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor, and a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University; the degree that brought her passion for mental health to the center of everything she does. She brings a combination of lived experience, professional training, and heartfelt commitment to supporting others on their healing journey. She believes we all deserve to be seen, heard, and valued and that's exactly where the work begins.

Cancellation Policy 

• Cancellations made up to 24 hours before a scheduled appointment via email at Aisha@oasw.org will be processed without a penalty.
• Cancellations made 24 hours or less before an event will not be refunded. This includes no-shows.
• Refunds will be issued if this event is cancelled. 

OASW Members only - Deposit Policy: Payment is for deposit only. Following confirmed attendance, OASW members will be refunded.
