THE FOURTEENTH ANNUAL NYC AUDUBON
FALL ROOST

Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Tribeca Rooftop
2 Desbrosses Street

Join us as we celebrate New York City Audubon’s 14th annual Fall Roost.

This year we honor Andrew Farnsworth, PhD, best known for his work developing BirdCast and supporting eBird, two online tools that have aided his colleagues at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, many other scientists and conservationists, and made it easier than ever for amateurs to get into birding and engaged in conservation. We are proud to honor Andrew for his many ornithological achievements conserving songbirds and for his service on our board of directors.

We also honor Annie Barry, our 2018 Volunteer of the Year. Annie has worked tirelessly to champion Governors Island as prime habitat and a birding hotspot while working to conserve the island’s nesting Common Terns and other birds. She has led countless walks there and in Inwood Hill Park, performed bird surveys and Audubon Christmas Bird Counts, and played a critical role in establishing our Governors Island seasonal nature center.

Proceeds from the Fall Roost support New York City Audubon's efforts to protect wild birds and their habitat in the five boroughs through scientific research, community engagement, advocacy, and hands-on habitat restoration. In particular, we are working to improve the quality of stopover habitat and reduce threats to birds from unnecessary illumination and from reflective glass.
